Advancing arts education, environmental conservation, and community well-being.
Dedicated to amplifying impactful work in Lancaster through collaborative programming and strategic grantmaking, Briar Hill Foundation advances arts education, environmental conservation, and community well-being.
Briar Hill Foundation is inspired by community advocate and lifelong educator Carole Haas Gravagno and her late husband, F. Otto Haas. Carole has dedicated the past forty years to improving the communities that she lives in, first in Philadelphia and now in Lancaster.
Founded in 2024, Briar Hill Foundation's activities range from supporting young musicians and the restoration of the county's nature preserves to developing a collaborative network among the non-profit community in Lancaster County. Led by Scott Fenimore and a dedicated Board of Directors, Briar Hill Foundation strives to enhance the Lancaster community.
Our Pillars
Arts Education
We believe access to the arts strengthens academic performance and well-being. We partner with schools and local organizations to expand access to arts education.
Environmental Conservation
We invest in land conservation and outdoor education because understanding how the environment shapes our lives is essential to building a sustainable, thriving Lancaster.
Community Well-Being
A strong community starts with the well-being of its people. From expanding access to healthcare to supporting the unhoused, we strive to improve the everyday lives of Lancaster residents.
